N7 Armor Test Fit III by hsholderiii N7 Armor Test Fit III by hsholderiii
I had to rush home from work because I was so pumped about starting the second phase of this project!

The initial strapping job was almost a complete success. The shoulders need an additional strap running from the front torso to back torso to help keep both shoulders closer to the body.

I need to add the "belt" strap around the waist as well.

I'm not really happy with the boots. I have some other ideas for them but I'll get to that later.

Everything feels fine. The Lycra suit makes the parts slip around a bit so I need to look for a solution to that.

The magnets on the lower back plate are a bit weak so I'll strip those out and install parachute clasps.

Megan seemed pretty happy with the progress so far :)

That's about it for the night. The next time you see this suit it should be on it's way to being painted. Goodbye light gray..

Thanks for reading!

Try Snaps and the front of boots would look nice with a square toe

Question, did you do resin for the helmet and foam for the body or did you do straight resin pepakura for the whole thing? I'm planning on making the female version but was in a debate over if I should use foam for the whole thing or mix and match. Any advice would be incredible. Thanks!

Hi KristyBlunt,

Sorry for the late reply. I didn't resin any of this. It's all just foam coated with a couple layers of plasti-dip (black) and then masked off and topped with Rustoleum Mettalics gunmetal.
I also used future floor wax as a sealant and to bring out the shine in certain areas, but you'll find that the paint sticks pretty well to the foam/plasti-dip mix.
